GAME REVIEW

Dark Souls is the best game ever because:

1. Its playable with a controller
Playing a game from a desk / keyboard / mouse is like doing homework
With a controller you are not stuck at a desk
You can lay back in a lounge or beanbag
You become part of the game
You feel in control of your character
Like its alive
When you take damage or a significant event is about to take place the controller shakes
This is how your spose to play
You dont need the latest computer and graphic card
Put all your money into a bigger screen and buy yourself a pro beanbag
Games designed for controllers are more badass

2. Graphics environment and exploration
In Dark Souls the environment and character textures look and feel real
You can truly explore this world
It has forests, lakes, castles and cities
Each area has different enemies, dangers and treasures
You must choose where you travel and what you encounter very carefully
You can go anywhere you want
But at your own peril

3. Real combat
Dark Souls has true in game collision and gravity
You cant just walk through creatures in the game like you are a ghost
When you fall it takes time to stand up
If your too heavy you stumble
When you are fighting you have to make critical real time decisions
Every footstep you take is under your control
You can hear it and feel it
You can step or roll to avoid attacks
You can raise a shield to block or swing a weapon to strike
Timing is everything
When your weapon collides with an enemy you feel that
Blood will spray
These are real time motions
You are in control of a virtual medieval solider
Not some fake sequence of anime while you stand in one spot
And press 1 2 3 4 5 on your keyboard and pretend you are doing something cool
No,
Dark Souls combat is for real
With the controller you use real motion and skills
To block, attack or run

4. You will fear Death in this game
No matter how careful you are, you will die!
And its going to hurt
As you kill monsters you will acquire souls from them
These souls can only be spent at bonfires or merchants
If you die before you spend them
Your souls will remain on your corpse
You will respawn at the last visited bonfire
And all the creatures in the entire world will respawn too
If you don’t make it back to your corpse
You will loose all those souls
This game is evil

5. RPG Characteristics
You character becomes stronger as you play
You must make important decisions as to what statistics you increase first
A player’s level will increase when leveling any Stat
But souls are needed to increase each Stat
Souls can only be acquired from killing monsters or looting corpses
And the amount of souls required will increase with every level

Each Stat can be increased up to a level of 99
— Vitality: Increases maximum health points
— Attunement: Increases spell slots
— Endurance: Increases stamina, max equip load and resistance to bleeding
— Strength: Increases attack power for weapons that scale with strength
— Dexterity: Increases attack power for weapons that scale with dexterity and casting speed
— Resistance: Increases physical and flame defense and resistance to poison
— Intelligence: Increases Sorcery power. Attack power for weapons that scale with intelligence
— Faith: Increases miracle power, magic defense and attack power for weapons that scale with faith

There are 10 different starting Classes to choose from
— Warrior
— Knight
— Wanderer
— Thief
— Bandit
— Hunter
— Sorcerer
— Pyromancer
— Cleric
— Deprived

You must acquire armor and weapons from creatures and areas in the game
And every piece is unique
Every decision you make in Dark Souls
From which area you chose to travel
To which NPCs you choose to assist
Will play a role in your ability to survive

Negative or lacking aspects of the Dark Souls:

1. Your starting personal Character customisation is poor

2. It is not a true MMO
Dark Souls is not a massively multiplayer online game
Its not a game in which a large number of players can simultaneously interact in a persistent world.
